Saturday 6-16-07 Here is the beginning of a particular concept I have in mind. I will leave it unnamed and unexplained at this point. I often will have a goal in mind when I start, but in the process the art piece will either flop & die--or somewhere along the way take on a life of its own with its own direction. one way or another I'll end up in a different place then the original goal. when a finished image feels like a successfull outcome usually an 'accident' has occurred. whatever I may consider my best stuff usually has an 'accident' in it.......a cool eye-opening surprise that wasn't planned and wasn't a mistake but was an artistic act of spontaneous combustion. this is when the art creats itself, so to speak. I attribute this mostly to my artistic inexperience or to an idea that is not fully formulated--or perhaps this IS the source of true art. so will this one flop, get put on the back burner, or spontaneously combust??.......
